Initiatives for the College of Education

Scholarships and fellowships

We must remove barriers that keep promising people from pursuing an education degree. Donor support for scholarships and fellowships will ensure that our graduates reflect the diversity of the communities they will serve.

Endowed faculty positions

Endowed professorships and faculty chairs strengthen the faculty applicant pool and allow the college to better support inspired teaching, groundbreaking research, and community outreach.

Faculty research, lectureships, symposia

Our faculty are scholar-practitioners who work with communities to promote equity and student success. Donor support will expand faculty knowledge transfer and research translation with colleagues, schools, and policymakers.

Edtech Equity Design Center

The College of Education seeks to create an educational design studio where faculty and students can develop working prototypes of mobile, scalable, accessible, and inclusive edtech tools.

Paraprofessional Pipeline Program

Latinx and Black teachers are underrepresented in schools because they are underrepresented in education degree programs. The college seeks to increase scholarship support for local Latinx and Black paraprofessionals pursuing undergraduate degrees and teacher certifications.

“Outreach activities for the common good are infused in all the work we do in the College of Education. That's true through our work with teachers, counselors, and school leaders as well as our research.”
