Technology Sandbox

Using emerging technology, Isenberg faculty and students benefit from innovative approaches to business.

The business world is ever evolving. That’s why Isenberg has a commitment to ensuring that the content and delivery of its educational offerings stay on the cutting edge. The Isenberg Technology Sandbox answers this call with popular emerging technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) equipment that allows faculty to teach in new ways and enrich the learning experience.

Opened in spring 2024, the Technology Sandbox empowers faculty, staff, and students to engage with new technologies and learn to leverage them for expanded educational and business impact.

“I think it’s going to change the way that teachers interact with technology,” says George Milne, associate dean for research and PhD programs and an Isenberg marketing professor. “I can see that in marketing, it would be great to have a fake shelf created through virtual reality, so you can see how product placement changes things.”

The Technology Sandbox lets professors take the learning process out of the classroom and into real-world situations, where the behavior that occurs doesn’t always match what’s predicted on paper.

Adds Milne: “It’s just that visceral learning, I think, of getting in there and doing things.”
